Die Social Ruin ist ein temporäres räumliches und soziales Format, das vom Mausoleum von Halikarnassos ausgeht. Es gehörte zu den sieben Weltwundern der Antike und liegt im heutigen Bodrum.

Einst ein Symbol für Macht, Ruhm und Dauer, stellt sein Verschwinden eine einfache Frage. Was bleibt, wenn Monumente verschwinden und wenn alles, was lange als sicher galt, ins Wanken gerät und zu bröckeln beginnt?

Anstatt neue Monumente zu errichten, setzt die Social Ruin auf Situation. Sie ist ein flexibles und mobiles Setting, das sich in Innenräume, Höfe oder öffentliche Räume einschreiben kann. Durch Kunst, Essen, Getränke und gemeinsames Verweilen entstehen Orte der Begegnung und des Austauschs.

The Social Ruin is a temporary spatial and social format that takes the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus as its point of departure. It was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and is located in what is now Bodrum.

Once a symbol of power, glory, and permanence, its disappearance raises a simple question. What remains when monuments disappear and when everything that once seemed stable begins to crumble?

Instead of building new monuments, the Social Ruin proposes a living situation. It is a flexible and adaptable setting that can extend into interiors, courtyards, or public spaces. Through art, food, drinks, and shared time, it creates spaces for encounter, exchange, and collective presence.
