Daniel Theiler ist ein deutsch-türkischer bildender Künstler, Filmemacher und Architekt. In seiner interdisziplinären Praxis, die Installation, Video, Skulptur, Malerei und Performance umfasst, untersucht er, wie sich kollektive Erinnerung, kulturelle Narrative und gesellschaftliche Dynamiken in Räumen einschreiben und Wahrnehmung prägen. Komplexe Themen werden dabei häufig auf spielerische und vielschichtige Weise verhandelt. Die Spannung zwischen utopischen Entwürfen und gelebter Realität bildet ein zentrales Motiv seiner Arbeit.
Theilers Arbeiten wurden international gezeigt, unter anderem in der GfZK – Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig, im Museum Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt und im Auditorium des Musée du Louvre Paris, und sind in öffentlichen Sammlungen vertreten, darunter die Sammlung zeitgenössischer Kunst der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, die Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden und die Deutsche Kinemathek. Er lebt und arbeitet in Berlin.
Daniel Theiler is a German-Turkish visual artist, filmmaker, and architect. His interdisciplinary practice spans installation, video, sculpture, painting, and performance, and investigates how collective memory, cultural narratives, and social dynamics are inscribed in space and shape perception. Complex themes are often addressed through playful and layered approaches. The tension between utopian propositions and lived reality constitutes a central motif in his work.
Theiler’s works have been exhibited internationally, including at GfZK – Gallery for Contemporary Art Leipzig, the Museum of Applied Arts Frankfurt, and the Auditorium of the Musée du Louvre in Paris, and are held in public collections such as the Contemporary Art Collection of the Federal Republic of Germany, the State Art Collections Dresden, and the Deutsche Kinemathek. He lives and works in Berlin.
