Der digitale Infopavillon Kunst und Kultur „SPLASH“ ist ein fröhlicher, markanter Identifikations- und Orientierungspunkt, der ein selbstbewusstes Zeichen für den Wert von Kunst und Kultur in Wiesbaden setzt.
SPLASH taucht wie ein farbiger Klecks in der Wiesbadener Innenstadt auf und weckt die Neugierde der Besucher:innen. Seine Form wurde aus der lokalen Architektur und den Besonderheiten der Stadt Wiesbaden heraus entwickelt: Als dekonstruierter Kaskadenbrunnen referenziert er den Kaskadenbrunnen im Wiesbadener Bowling Green und die wichtige Rolle des Wassers für die Stadt. Die großflächige Fassadenverglasung aus welligen Profilglasbauteilen des Pavillons verweist auf das herabfallende Wasser des Kaskadenbrunnens und lässt viel Tageslicht in den Innenraum. Die wellenförmige Profilierung der Glasfassade erzeugt spannende Effekte, die die Silhouetten im Inneren erkennen lassen und neugierig machen. Gemeinsam mit der begehbaren Terrasse signalisiert der Bau Offenheit und Transparenz für die Stadtgesellschaft, Besucher:innen und Tourist:innen und laden diese dazu ein, die Architektur zu entdecken.
The digital information pavilion Art and Culture „SPLASH“ is a cheerful, striking point of identification and orientation that sends a self-confident signal about the value of art and culture in Wiesbaden.
SPLASH appears like a colourful blob in Wiesbaden’s city centre and arouses the curiosity of visitors. Its form was developed from the local architecture and the special features of the city of Wiesbaden: As a deconstructed cascade fountain, it references the cascade fountain in Wiesbaden’s Bowling Green and the important role of water for the city. The pavilion’s large-scale façade glazing of undulating profiled glass components refers to the falling water of the cascading fountain and brings plenty of daylight into the interior. The undulating profiling of the glass façade creates exciting effects that reveal the silhouettes inside and arouse curiosity. Together with the accessible terrace, the building signals openness and transparency to the urban community, visitors and tourists, inviting them to discover the architecture.
